Culture Blast!
The Big Bang is my metaphor for Culture Blast! I understand culture as a human experience and making, so the human physicalities that help us create and participate in culture (touch, smell, taste, hearing, and sight) become pieces of the Big Bang. It is creation and destruction in the same moment. Hierarchies and systems rearrange themselves and gravitate around and towards a common ideology. Cultures reinvent themselves, and new cultures are born. In the mural, eyes, ears, hands and mouths are disconnected, but connect as potential constellations. Among the body parts, existing motifs from the east, west, south and north parts of the world mix. Like the stars in a constellation, culture is made up of symbols and traditions, ever-shifting in its position and meaning. Yet it is remembered by generations, revisited, criticized and respected as cannons.
